Advantages Of UBUNTU:

  • It's faster than your thoughts, even if you install every thing a user needs.
  • It's almost safe from any virus and bugs, you don't need to always scan a drive for viruses.
  • It has all the basic programs available in it's software center.
  • It comes with pre-installed office tools in it.
  • It takes very less space to get installed.
  • Everything browses very fast even the internet.
  • There is no need to install any specific drivers for any peripheral, you just need to plug it.
  • And there are many of them.....

Installing Ubuntu:

Installing is quiet easy and you can even try ubuntu without installing! Just put it the CD with the OS's disc image created on it and then start installing it according to your language preferences, then it asks you to install it in the whole hard drive or if you are using windows or any other OS, then it will ask  to install it alongside that OS and if you want to give it a limited space to get installed then select the advanced or (anything other) options from the menu and specify which drive you want to install it in , you can select either of the drives you made and specify it as a root (designated with this sign '\' )partition. Then click on install button and wait for 5 minutes until it finishes everything up and makes your desktop ready to use!Now you will be guided to make your desktop full with basic apps. For more on installing go here.

Installing basic apps:

You need to install some basic applications for running your ubuntu well because it doesn't supports many file types as installed, to solve this issue do as follows:

  • Connect to the internet.
  • Press Alt + Ctrl + T , together then it will open a terminal like this:

  • Enter 'sudo apt-get update' in that window!
  • It will do magical processes for a while (depends on your internet speed). like this:
  • Then it will write the same thing as written before executing the previous code.
  • Now open the software center and type VLC in the search bar.
  • Then click the install button.
  • And just like this install all the other apps through it's Software center.
  • You are done. Thank you for reading.
